Storage
Most plant pages mention storage because spoilage is how food value is lost. This hub is the shared logic; individual plants add the exceptions.
Default pantry logic
- Dried leaves, seeds, and roots: airtight, dark, cool, labeled with year.
- Nuts and oily seeds: cooler than a stove-side cabinet; freeze extra to delay rancidity.
- Fresh greens: refrigerate unwashed if sandy; wash before eating.
- Whole winter squash and some roots: cool, dry, and not in a sealed plastic bag.
What storage is not
A capsule does not “solve” storage. Encapsulated powder still oxidizes and still has a best-by date. If the goal is eating the plant, storing the food is usually cheaper than buying a new bottle.
