Supplement Forms
Capsule, powder, gummy — not equivalent. Continuum disclaimer always applies.
Forms are not equivalent
GROW → HARVEST → EAT → DRY → POWDER → CAPSULE → GUMMY. Moving right changes water, dose density, excipients, cost, and sometimes the chemical profile. There is no universal winner.
Extract ≠ dried powder ≠ whole food. Processing can change concentration, which constituents remain, stability, and how much you actually swallow.
| Form | Often useful when | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Whole food | You can eat it and it covers the goal | Access, cooking, allergies |
| Dried material | Storage and tea/spice use | Not 1:1 with fresh by volume |
| Powder | Dosing flexibility, mixing into food | Taste, measurement, oxidation |
| Capsule / tablet / softgel | Swallowing a measured amount | Excipients; elemental vs compound weight |
| Gummy | People who will not swallow pills | Sweeteners, lower dose density, dental/sugar load |
| Liquid | People who cannot swallow solids | Stability, taste, dropper math |
