Capsaicin, Garlic & Thyme Antibacterial Skillet
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and chili; sauté 1 minute until fragrant. Add protein and thyme; cook through. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve over greens or whole grains.
Ingredients
- 3–4 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper or 1 fresh chili pepper (minced)
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 oz ground beef or chicken
- sea salt
- black pepper
Method
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and chili; sauté 1 minute until fragrant. Add protein and thyme; cook through. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve over greens or whole grains.
Flavor tip: The capsaicin from the chili amplifies the antimicrobial action of the allicin from garlic synergistically. The thyme adds a natural thymol (antibacterial) depth. Top with fresh lemon juice to finish.
